When you consider whether to take wheat grass pills (tablets or capsules) or powder, you should be aware that there are two types of powders used in these products.
Companies that produce
wheat grass powder use all of the viable parts of the young grass. They then grind and dehydrate it into a powder form. That gives wheat grass powder up to four times more fiber than wheat grass juice powder.
Producers of wheat grass juice powder also grind the wheat grass, but they filter out pulp and other elements before it is dehydrated. In general, juice powders
generally have more vitamins (especially A and E) and other nutrients than comparable wheat grass powders.
Despite those differences, both powders are effective.
There are multiple (albeit small) studies on wheat grass powder.
Researchers found that it decreased oxidative stress. That stress––an imbalance of free radicals and antioxidants––can cause myriad issues, including muscle pain, wrinkles, and susceptibility to infections.
As we’ve mentioned, different manufacturers make wheat grass supplements differently. That’s why it’s essential to only use quality supplements. It’s vital to read the product information to understand exactly what ingredients the producer adds to their products.
